Here are highlights for the Barcelona sightseeing trip:
Visit the Sagrada Familia
A one-of-a-kind temple, for its origins, foundation, and purpose and is the most iconic works by Antoni Gaudi. It is dedicated to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and it represents the road to God: Death, Final Judgment, and Glory.
The design of the Sagrada Familia also has a total of eighteen spires, or towers, that represent the Twelve Apostles, the Virgin Mary, the four Evangelists, and, the tallest of them all, Jesus Christ.
It is one of the longest projects of all time and is due to be completed in 2026 after almost 150 years. When completed, it will be the tallest building in Europe.
Also designed by Gaudi, the park is one of the largest green spaces in Barcelona. The architecture of these buildings is unique with stunning and distinct architectural elements.
As Gaudi has been inspired by nature, he has decorated the park with exquisite structures that imitate natural forms. It is filled with colorful architecture that is influenced by symbolism.
It is magical and sure to bring visitors in awe.
Montserrat Day Trip
It is one of the most popular day trips in Barcelona. You take a cable car up the mountain. At the top, you are able to see the Spanish countryside. The views from the monastery are breathtaking, well worth a day of your time while you are visiting.
On our day trip to Montserrat, our guests will also visit Cava, Spain’s wine country, and meet local wine markers and savor fine Spanish wines.
Paellas is Spain’s most iconic dish and guests cannot leave Spain without trying this authentic meal. Originating from Valencia (Spain), it is a rice dish that can come with saffron, vegetables, chicken, and seafood cooked and served in a round shallow pan.
Spain is also known for its Tapas -- small plates, typically small savory dishes, snacks, or appetizers of Spanish cuisine. It may be served hot or cold.
Some kinds of Tapas are patatas bravas (potato cubes with a sauce that can be spicy or mild), carrillada (a cut of meat, pork, or beef with a guaranteed juicy taste), and croquetas (a fried dumpling that has a filling of either cooked ham, roast pork, beef, chicken, fish or vegetables).
Shop at Las Ramblas or Passeig de Gracia
Shopping in Barcelona is major tourist activity. Both Las Ramblas and Passeig de Gracia connect to each other with hundreds of designer stores such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Zara, or Bershka. It is also famous for its street performers.
Spain is known around the world for its Majorican pearls. Our cultural sightseeing trip will free time to purchase these man made pearls.
A beautiful sight filled with sculptures and fountains, it is surrounded by its large shopping centers and department stores. The plaza constantly attracts people and is a central get-together for people in the area. Many come just to sit and enjoy the view.
Barcelona is known for being the home for legendary artists such as Pablo Picasso and Juan Miró. A trip to Barcelona is not complete without visiting the museums to see these artists' works.
Party at La Barceloneta
One of the most popular areas is filled with restaurants, bars, beaches, and nightlife all on the boardwalk. It is truly the heart of Barcelona.
Our guests can enjoy the day at San Sebastian Beach or enjoy the night at any of the nightclubs like Opium or Shôko.
