Israel Soft Adventure Trip (February 4 to February 11, 2019)

The Israel seven days/six nights adventure tour will enable you to hike and swim and walk around some of the holiest sites.  Our adventure includes the following experiences.

Monday, February 4, 2019

• Arrive at the Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) and meet your guide and tour bus.
• Drive to the hotel in the Galilee.
• Free evening in Tiberias, an old city on the Western shores of the Sea of Galilee.  This city holds important Jewish and Christian pilgrimmage sites including the Tomb of Maimonides and Abulafia (Etz Chaim) Synagogue

Tuesday, February 5, 2019

• Galilee (breakfast)
• Start the morning with a beautiful viewpoint over the Sea of Galille at Mount Arbel, from there hike the cliffs of the mountain.
• Drive across the Upper Galilee to a beautiful vista overlooking an important Crusader Castle, Monfort.
• Drive across the castle through the Kziv Stream where there is an access point to take a refreshing dip into its sweet waters.

• Water Hike in the Golan Heights (breakfast)
• All day hike at the Yehudiya waterfalls.  The hike requires you wear clothes and footwear that you do no mind getting wet.  Part of the trail requires swimming through deep pools to continue on the trail.

• The Jordan Valley (breakfast and dinner)
• Visit Biblical sites around the Sea of Galilee, including the Mount of Beatitudes, the ruins of the village of Capernaum, and the Church of the Primacy of Peter (on the shores of the lake)
• Explore the dramatic Roman ruin of Beit She'an.
• Drive along the border of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Dead Sea

Sleep at Masada Guest House or its equivalent

• Sunrise hike up the desert fortress of Masada
• Breakfast at Masada Guest house
• Short hike in the oasis waterfalls of Ein Geidi
• Floating and mudding at the Dead Sea.
• Viewpoint of the Holy City in Jerusalem.

• Ancient Jerusalem (breakfast)
• Viewpoint over the Old City at the Mount of Olives
• Walk down Palm Sunday Road
• Chapel of Dominus Flevit
• Olive grove of Gethsemane
• Via Dolorosa
• Church of Holy Sepulcher - the holiest site in Christianity

• The City of David (breakfast)
• Temple Mount/Haram Al Sharif -- The holiest site in Islam
• The Western Wall -- the holiest site in Judaism
• City of David - a site with the best archeology in the ancient city and a microcosm for modern political strife.  Exploring this site is best to understand the extremely complicated reality of both historic and contemporary Jerusalem.  Our group will wade through the original moutain spring water which was a source of the city in 2700 year old tunnel (requires water shoes and head lamp)
